![]() Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge was established in October 2000 as the 526th refuge in the National Wildlife Refuge System. The refuge was established to conserve, restore, and manage native forested wetland habitats for migratory birds, aquatic resources, and endangered and threatened plants and animals. Hiking trails are open to the public. |
![]() The Mary Ann Brown Preserve encompasses 109 acres rich in upland forest, wildlife and flora. Several well-marked hiking trails, including a self-guided interpretive trail, provide a relaxing adventure through slightly steep slopes, sandy bottom streams and easy walks on ridge tops. The Preserve is run by the Nature Conservancy. |
